Marion and Scott opened Studio Do in 2011 when interest in ceramic arts was facing a serious decline.

They were one of the first ceramic studios in the country to run open access memberships.

“Our intent in part was to help the ceramic tradition continue; now its flourishing and we hope we have played a small role in that happening.”

Studio Do holds classes in an evening and daytime workshops alongside studio memberships.

“Our members are practicing ceramicists who have open access to the studio facilities, take part in exhibitions, discussion groups and artisan markets.”

Taking classes at Studio do has reignited my love of clay, and it’s been such a treat to enjoy this creative mindful activity, supported by inspiring teachers and fellow students. Studio do offers a welcoming and inclusive space for playful learning, and has been vital for my creative journey … onwards and upwards!

Starting the evening classes at studio do has reignited my passion for pottery. The freedom and flexibility that the courses offer allowed me to explore my ideas and create pieces I wanted to! Fun and informative I would recommend this course!

‘I had a great time learning the basics at StudioDo. As a writer and artist who had fallen into a creative funk during the pandemic, it was the perfect way to blow the cobwebs away and enjoy a brand new process.’ James
